In het standaardwerk ‘Hulpwerktuigen’ (STC Publishing, 2018) zijn QR-codes te vinden die extra informatie geven over de werking van diverse hulpwerktuigen. Het betreft AR-beelden die met behulp van een smartphone of tablet augmented worden getoond.

Sinds de introductie van Hulpwerktuigen in 1994 heeft dit boek een onmisbare plaats verworven in het maritieme onderwijs en zijn duizenden studenten en zeevarenden ingewijd in de werking en toepassing van de vele hulpsystemen aan boord van een schip.
